Shriya Bandla
President
Shriya is a senior at the Center for Medical Sciences at Godwin High School with a strong focus on research, leadership, and community impact. She placed 1st at the Metro Richmond STEM Fair (MRSF), 2nd at the Virginia Junior Academy of Science (VJAS), and is a finalist for both the Virginia State Engineering and Science Fair (VSEEF) and the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS). As the State Vice President of VJAS, she is committed to fostering scientific engagement among youth across Virginia. As a Cubes in Space intern, she conducted original scientific research, engineered a compact spaceflight experiment, and became one of the few students globally to have their work launched aboard a NASA rocket into suborbital space. Honored to serve as President of the iStart Valley Youth Executive Council, Shriya has led national STEM outreach efforts, organized hackathons, supervised youth-led podcasts to empower the next generation of changemakers. She was named a Global Semi-Finalist and earned the Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) for her leadership and service. Passionate about making a difference, Shriya has completed over 700 hours of volunteer service, earning the Barbara James Service Award for her contributions to healthcare. She is the founder of Oasis of Hope, a student-led nonprofit that has reached thousands through school outreach, social media campaigns, and mental health awareness initiatives. A 3x state and 3x international finalist in HOSA, Shriya currently serves as President of both HOSA and DECA at her school. She also represents over 50,000 students as the Henrico delegate on the Richmond Youth Advisory Committee (RYAC). A dedicated student-athlete, Shriya is a starter and co-captain on her Varsity Tennis team and remains deeply committed to driving meaningful change in her community.
