Karthick Govindaraj is a rising senior at Edison Academy Magnet School specializing in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is the founder and treasurer of the MCA Robotics Club and captain of the MCA Eagles FTC Robotics Team, where he was named a Dean’s List Semifinalist. As a Project STEM Teaching Assistant, he teaches AP Computer Science A and Fundamentals of Python, and also tutors students in SAT Math. Karthick leads STEM outreach programs through libraries and serves as president of a Dialogue Club, facilitating global discussions on mental health, AI, climate change, and economic justice. He has completed over 400 volunteer hours teaching spoken English to rural students in India, earning three Presidential Gold Volunteer Service Awards. For three years, he has served as a Director of the Youth Innovation Council at iStart Valley, mentoring student innovators, presenting at the Global Innovation Summit, and contributing to entrepreneurship and educational initiatives. He also serves on the technology committee of Congressman Frank Pallone Jr.’s Youth Advisory Council, where he has proposed policies to improve access for children with disabilities. Karthick’s passion lies at the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and social impact, and he is dedicated to building inclusive technologies that empower communities worldwide.
