Ruhi Desai is a rising Senior at the John P. Stevens High School. Looking to enter the field of science, she has been the Captain of a Vex Robotics team, winning awards for build technique, programming, and ethics in STEM. Furthermore, it allowed her to develop an interest in AI, Robotics, and technology in general. In addition to serving as Co-President on iStart Valley’s Youth Innovation Council, she is an Eagle candidate and the Troop Instructor of Troop 2G in Scouts BSA, of Edison, New Jersey, in which she plan meetings, camping trips, hikes, and award ceremonies, amongst other events. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Social Studies Honors Society, French Honors Society, and is on the Executive Board of the Tri-M Music Honors Society. As a flute player, she has performed at numerous recitals, earning awards such as the Grand Prix Award which led her to perform at the prestigious Carnagie Hall. She is the Upper Woodwind Captain of the JPS Marching Band, a member of her school’s Student Council Executive Board, which includes regulating school events, and is an Assistant Editor of her school’s newspaper, known as the Hawkeye. She looks forward to leading the Youth Innovation Council to success, in multiple realms of innovation, spreading the unending and valuable knowledge of the potential of technology.
